Obituary of Lucille Harriet Hagglund

Lucille Harriet (Johnson) Hagglund (Lu Lu Belle), 86 of Duluth, MN passed away December 12, 2021, at her home in Duluth, MN (Clover Valley). She was born in Superior, WI on December 3, 1935 to Emil and Hilma Johnson. Lucille was raised in Oulu, Wisconsin and graduated from Northwestern High School in Port Wing, Wisconsin in 1953. She married Russell Hagglund in 1954. Together they raised 7 children in Clover Valley, MN. Lucille was proud of her Finnish Heritage and had a lot of “Sisu.” She enjoyed gardening, canning and making bows. Lu always enjoyed telling and hearing a good joke. She enjoyed laughter with her family and friends at her kitchen table or around her fire pit in the summer time. She also loved to hear and tell stories about UFOs.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell, Brother Jerry Johnson, Sister Bertha Peterson, Daughter Susan Hagglund-Kempffer, and Daughter-in-law, Michelle Hagglund.

She is survived by her brother John (Heidi) Johnson, “Sister Cousin” Mary Solberg, Children Willis (Patty), Roger (Julie Sorensen), Johnny, David (Karen), Tommy, and daughter Lisa (Larry) Dunaiski. 12 Grandchildren, Sharon Denham, April (Pedro) Sotomayor, Adam Kempffer, Aaron Kempffer, Dennis (Aisha) Hagglund, Jesse (Misty) Hagglund, Andrew (Katie) Hagglund, Kyle (Pauli) Hagglund, Danny (Kristy) Hagglund, Jake (Brittney) Hagglund, Sarah Hagglund, Sasha Dunaiski and 14 great grandchildren.

Due to Covid and at the request of Lucille, there will not be a formal service. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to a charity of your choice.
