Obituary of Tena Ann Yell

Tena Ann Yell was born December 17, 1976 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN to Kenneth and Sharon (Dontje) Yell.  She grew up in Coon Rapids, MN and attended school in Coon Rapids.  After high school she graduated from Horst Beauty School in Minneapolis with an Esthiology Course Degree and worked as a skin care specialist and make-up artist.  She also worked as a PCA and other various jobs through the years.

Tena and Chad met 20 years ago and were united in marriage on November 30, 2012 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Stacy.  They made their home in Stacy.

Tena is survived by her husband, Chad Otterness of Stacy; her mother, Sharon Dontje-Yell, of Stacy; her father, Ken (Pam) Yell, of Coon Rapids; a brother, Todd (Mandy) Yell and their children, Isabella and Alexia, of Woodbury; her cousin Travis (Emily) Dontje and their family, of Maquoketa, IA; mother-in-law, Melissa McDaniel, of Stacy; father-in-law, Ron Otterness, of Ham Lake; sister-in-law, Andrea Mikkelson, of South St Paul and her 2 sons, Brendan and Benjamin Mikkelson, of Forest Lake; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her son, Devon Otterness; her uncle, Gary Dontje; and her grandparents, John and Leone Dontje, Leonard and Esther Yell and Ronald and Sandra Otterness.
