Obituary of Kristine Marie Schansberg

Kristine Marie Schansberg passed away peacefully surrounded by family and close friends on Friday December 10th, 2021. Kristine was born on 8/12/1970 in Robbinsdale Mn, to Philip and Carlys Schansberg. She was the youngest and only daughter-joining brothers Craig and Derek. Kristine graduated from Delano High School in 1988 and went on to become an LPN.

Kristine was always surrounded by children, whether it was her younger adoring cousins, family friends, the kids she helped at school, or her own. The constant in Kris’s life was her love of children.

When Kris and Tim became parents to the chubby, adorable, spikey haired Kaden, she handled it exactly like all knew she would. She loved him immediately. She dressed him like a baby model and he was just along for the ride. Twin girls Kellyn and Carly didn’t slow her down either. She fed them both at the exact same time, also dressing them like models and was even playing volleyball barely two weeks after she had them. Though her plan was to be married and done having kids by age 30, her biggest and best surprise came when Carter was born.

Even if you weren’t her kid, she treated you like hers. Even if you didn’t pay rent, you may have had your own room at the house. Even if you didn’t buy it, you may have a piece of her clothing in your closet. Even if you weren’t officially her family, she would make you a family recipe with love. And, even, if you were stopping in for a short visit, you walked away feeling better just being loved by her.

Kristine is preceded in death by both her parents, Phil and Carlys Schansberg as well as both sets of grandparents. She is survived by the loves of her life children- Kaden, Kellyn, Carly and Carter (and cat Alan). Significant other Doug Emery, brothers Craig (Jeanne) and Derek. Nieces and nephews, Cole and Julia Schansberg and Devin and Madison Schansberg Many cousins and family and close friends she called family. Marit and Bruce, Bria, Karna and Katrine Kaiser, Jen and Tony, Kwin and Kamryn Donahue and Sandy Lundahl.

Oh how sweet it was, to be loved by her. Now reunited with her parents and forever watching over her babies.

Memorial service will be held at the Watertown Community Center 309 Lewis Ave S, Watertown MN on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 1-4.
