Obituary of Wendy Susan Kaarto

Wendy Kaarto passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday November 30, 2021 at the age of 56.  She had been diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer in 2016 and did not let it hold her back from living her life, but found out in October it had spread to her brain.  She took full advantage of the time she had left by spending it with family and friends.  She remained fiercely independent.

Wendy was born in Superior, WI and graduated in 1983 from Superior Senior High.  She earned her AA at Anoka-Ramsey and later earned her BS at Metro State.  She became a licensed real estate broker and was beginning a real estate business combining areas she loved- Rescue Mutt Realty.

Wendy enjoyed being with her children and offering advice, adventures with her grandchildren, rescuing dogs, remodeling houses and seeing potential in the diamond-in-the-rough fixer-uppers, doing projects with her significant other, listening to music, having wood fires in the fireplace, cooking, cheering for the Packers, and target practice.

A casual drop-in Celebration of Life will be held at her home on Sunday May 15 2022 11am - 6pm.
