Obituary of Dale Leonard Anderson

Dale L. Anderson of  Duluth passed away November 25, 2021 with his loving family at his side.

He was born January 1, 1933 on his parents farm to Alfred and Irma (Flint) Anderson. He lived in Chisholm and Bear River before moving to Duluth Mn. At that time he served a four year navel tour, Occupation of Europe, during the cold war. He was discharged from the Navy on December 16, 1955, now becoming a veteran. While he was on leave he met his future wife in Hibbing Mn. and married June (Libby) Fimrite June 30, 1956 in Hibbing Mn. They lived in Duluth Mn. and raised three children.

Dale worked for Duluth School District for thirty six years, retiring as Supervisor of Maintenance and Construction. He volunteered as a life member of V.F.W. Post 137, President eight years of Piedmont Little League Baseball, Member of Duluth Hortus Club, Member of the Duluth Bocce Club and were City Champs in 2004. Dale participated in a monthly poker club with close friends for many years. As a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church he served as Elder, Trustee and Deacon. Dale was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle to many nephews and nieces and friend to many. He enjoyed family genealogy, woodworking, gardening, traveling and family gatherings.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Libby and youngest son Rodger, four brothers Wallace, Alfred, Wilbert, Richard; sisters Evelyn and Lorraine.

Dale is deeply missed by his son Bruce (Susan) Anderson; daughter Marie (Steve) Krueth; daughter-in-law Amy Spanier (Ron); eleven grandchildren; Deb, Glen, Earl (Amber), TJ, Karl (Alli), Amy,(Chad), Angie (Matt), Jason, Dustin, Sydney, Maxwell; eight great-grandchildren; Tre’, Lily, Tegan, Ellias, Cecilia, Austin, Josie and Hunter; two sisters, Avis Cowan of California and Sandra Sherling of Texas; many nieces and nephews.   

A service will be held for immediate family only due to covid restriction.
