Doris Metoxen (Halberg)

Doris Metoxen, 84, Brooklyn Center (formally of Maple Grove and Fridley MN), went to be with the Lord, surrounded by family, on November 21, 2021.  Doris was born in Shevlin MN and grew up in the beauty of Itasca State Park.  She attended Bagley HS before enrolling at North Central College in Minneapolis where she met the love of her life, her future husband, Carl.  They married in 1958.  They later welcomed two sons, Todd and Terry, whom she treasured.  She was a valued employee at Wells Fargo Minneapolis for many years working in Capital Management & Trust.  She enjoyed reading, traveling, Yahtzee, classic country music, wildlife, her pet dogs, occasionally donating to the local casino, but mostly, enjoying time with her family.  That was her favorite.

Celebration of life service is scheduled for Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 12650 Johnny Cake Ridge Rd, Apple Valley, MN 55124.  Visitation begins at 10:00am, service at 11:00am.

Doris is survived by her husband of 63 years, Carl and her two sons, Todd (Shannon Aubart Peterson), Terry and sisters Erma and Gladys, and her two grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Eddie Axel and Emma Halberg.
