Obituary of Daniel W Vertanen
On November 19, 2021, Daniel W. Vertanen, 75, went home to his Heavenly Father. He fought a ten year battle with Parkinson's disease.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandra (Bauer) Vertanen; his children, Melissa (Chris) Clark, Keith Vertanen, and Michelle (Tim) Neuharth; and his grandchildren, Owen, Gillian, Kate, Noah, Ellen and Corinne.
He was born August 3, 1946. He was one of 8 children and is survived by his brothers, Dennis (Mary), David (Linda), Dale (Colleen) and sisters, Christine (Stan) Jefferson, Kathy (Steve) Barr and Carol (Rob) German.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilho and Pauline Vertanen and his brother, Darrel.
He graduated from Michigan Technological University in 1969 with a degree in civil engineering and spent his career in construction, retiring as Vice President of the heavy division of M.A. Mortenson.
His memorial service will be December 4, 2021 at 10am at Prince of Peace Church in Burnsville, Minnesota.
