Obituary of Rose Cecilia Montijo
Montijo, Rose C. of Champlin, Minnesota passed away peacefully on November 20, 2021. She was surrounded by love and family. She was born on August 23, 1937 to John and Cecilia (Vranek) Vosejpka in Erin Township, Minnesota.
Rose grew up in Lonsdale, Minnesota. She attended and graduated from Bethlehem Academy in Faribault, Minnesota. After graduating she then moved to Ohio and met Ray Robinson; they moved to Chicago where she gave birth to Steven and Stacy. She divorced and then met and married Pedro Montijo where she then had three children; Laura, Sandra, and Lisa. Once living back in Minnesota she raised her children in Brooklyn Park. She was a dedicated and hard working individual. She also worked for Mount Sinai Hospital, and then went to Community Hospital where she worked for the rest of her career. She enjoyed genealogy; was an avid reader, adored Elvis, enjoying her time at the casino, and also spending time with her family.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents John and Cecilia, Infant sister Mary Alice, and son Steven “Steve” Robinson.
Rose is Survived by her children, Bill Robinson, Laura (Tom) Porter, Sandy (David) Fisk, and Lisa (Tim) Fortuna. Grandchildren, Nicole Hauser, Jessica Stumm, Kristin Reichart, Daniel (Danyelle) Robinson, Carolyn Fortuna, Michael Porter, Allison Fortuna, Emily Fortuna, Sara Fortuna; and Great Grandchildren Garr, Chris, Izaac, Shawn, Chase, Adalynn, Kinsley, and Mason; and many loving family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held at the Cremation Society of Minnesota in Brooklyn Park; 7835 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota 55445. On Saturday, November 27, 2021 with a service being held at 11am visitation will be held one hour prior with a reception to follow.
Private family interment will be at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope where she will be laid to rest beside her son Steve.
In lieu of flowers, go to your nearest casino with your friends and family to play some China Shores in remembrance of Rose.
