Bentley, Joanne R. (Leonard)

age 61, of Edina, entered into God’s kingdom on 10/10/2021, peacefully surrounded by loved ones after a brave battle against Gallbladder Cancer (Lynch Syndrome). She was preceded in death by her father and mother Thomas and Natalie Leonard. She is survived by an incredibly loving family, including husband John, children Natalie Elmore (Mark), Jessica Eiynck (Christian) and Rachael, granddaughter Charlotte Eiynck, brothers Jonathan (Priscilla) and Stephen (Karen), step-mother Karen Leonard, and many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and numerous other family and friends.

I am home in heaven, dear ones;

  Oh, so happy and so bright!

There is perfect joy and beauty

  In this everlasting light.

 

All the pain and grief is over,

  Every restless tossing passed;

I am now at peace forever,

  Safely home in heaven at last.

 

There is work still waiting for you.

  So you must not idly stand;

Do it now, while life remaineth –

  You shall rest in God’s own land.

 

When that work is all complete,

  He will gently call you Home;

Oh, the rapture of that meeting,

  Oh, the joy to see you come!

 

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to American Cancer Society.  A private service and interment with the immediate family will be held at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis.
