Obituary of Gladys M. Downing

Gladys M. Downing, age 93, of Duluth, died Friday, September 24, 2021, in St. Luke’s Hospital.

Gladys was born in Osakis, MN to Herman and Hulda Rosenow. She married Harry Downing in 1948 in Alexandria, MN.

They moved to Duluth in 1957. She worked at Sears Roebuck Catalog Dept., retiring in 1983.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry; sisters, Ernestine Kind, Pauline Rueckert, Irene Imme; brother, Harold Rosenow; and their spouses. Gladys was the last of her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Oberg; and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 30th at Hope United Methodist Church, 301 W St. Marie St, in Duluth.
