Patrick Neve

Obituary of Patrick Julien Neve

Patrick Julien Neve, formerly of Proctor, MN passed away Thursday September 23, 2021 at home in Fort Myers, Florida after a brief battle with cancer at the age of 66.

Born on March 17, 1955 to Amanda and James Neve in Duluth, MN, Patrick was a 1973 graduate of Proctor High School where he played baseball, football, and golf. Patrick attended the University of MN - Duluth where he majored in Accounting.

Patrick held many occupations throughout his life: Railroad Worker, Insurance Salesman, and Business Owner/Operator, among others - he loved working with people.

Patrick’s passions were his family and friends, golf, and watching sports. In 2019, he realized his lifelong dream of retiring, moving to Florida, and living on a golf course. He loved being able to play every day, especially when it involved his son, Nick. His greatest passion was watching his grandson Tyler play baseball, whether in-person or via livestream. Patrick had an unwavering love for Minnesota sports, especially his beloved Vikings (through their ups, downs, and downs again). No matter their record, he loved nothing more than putting on a Minnesota jersey and cheering.

Patrick was a truly caring and kind man, befriending everyone he met. He was wise, brave, and generous - always willing to help others. Another passion he cherished was cooking, and his feasts never went unnoticed.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Carla (Ruhnke) Neve.

Patrick is survived by his children Chad Neve (Jessica Hansen), Ann Berglund (Eric Nolan), Darren (Sam) Spears, and Nicholas Neve; step-children Steph (Mike) Baasch and Andrew (Kelsey) Habhegger; grandchildren Tyler, Gavin, Cole, Kendra, Jason, Caleb, Jayden, Amya, Brynlee; sister Judy (Bruce) Gianunzio; brothers, James (Jackie) Neve and Robert Neve (Shannon Ryan); and girlfriend Pamela “Sam” DeBaiso and her family Becky, Garrett, Mckenna and Ian Onraet.

Patrick was a wonderful father and friend, and he was loved by many. Friends and family are invited to a visitation at 2:00 pm and service at 3:00 pm at The Cremation Society of Duluth on October 14th, followed by a Celebration of Life at Mr. D’s at 5:00 pm.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the staff at Hope Hospice and Becky Onraet for the kind, compassionate care they provided to Patrick in his final weeks.
