Obituary of Elizabeth J. Carlson

Age 61 of Saint Paul, formerly of Detroit Lakes. Passed away October 3, 2021. Preceded in death by father, John David Carlson. Survived by son, Hunter Franke and daughter, Camryn Franke; mother, Patricia Carlson; younger sisters, Cynthia Carlson (Sherri Dougherty), Susan Carlson Morin (Tom Morin), and Jennifer Rousseau Reigel (Chris Reigel); uncle, Robert (Joan) Carlson; and nieces, nephews, and cousins. Elizabeth, known as Liz by most, had many friends from different walks of life. Liz was an attorney, and an accomplished researcher, scholar, and advocate. She was an alumna of Detroit Lakes Senior High, the University of Minnesota, and William Mitchell College of Law. She loved flower gardening, walking in nature, and spending time with her children. Liz is deeply missed. Service will be Wednesday, October 13 at Cremation Society of MN, 1979 Old Hudson Road, Saint Paul, 55119. Visitation at 1:00pm and service at 2:00pm, reception to follow. Liz’s family kindly requests all guests wear face masks and observe COVID-19 safety protocol.
