Obituary of Chernah Belah Coblentz

Chernah Belah Coblentz, born June 11,1952 and passed away September 22,2021.

Chernah is survived by her wife Kathleen Hagen, Brother, Joseph Coblentz, and his wife, Micheline, and their daughters, Vanessa and Brian Beletic, Nilande and Graham Perkins, and Martine and Jessie Brown,and their two children, Amalie and Kenneth.
Chernah was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Sarah Colblentz.

Chernah lived in Souderton, Pennsylvania through high school. She attended college at Penn State receiving her degree in Psychology. While in college she decided to change her name. She took her grandmother’s Hebrew name as her main name. Chernah Belah. In the 1980”s she attended Brown Institute receiving her computer programing degree. Her last job was with Ameriprise retiring in 2009. Chernah met Kathy Hagen, in 1979. They bought a house and moved in together in 1981 and lived in that house for approximately 30 years. They married in 2016

Chernah sang in Calliope Women’s Chorus for approximately ten years. She belonged to a women’s rock-‘n-roll band of women called StepSister. Chernah sang in a community chorus for two years at McPhail. 

Chernah was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and dementia. She lived in the memory care unit at Jones-Harrison for the last seven years of her life. 

Memorial services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 12.  Visitation scheduled from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., services from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m., reception from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Memorial will be heldat Cremation Society of Minnesota, Edina, 7110 France Avenue South.          TribuCast link: http://client.tribucast.com/tcid/2445042305
