Obituary of Karen Philen

Ms. Karen Philen (née Swengston) died peacefully at home on August 3, 2021, in Brooklyn Park, MN at the age of 77.

Karen is survived by her son Peter Philen and his wife, Elizabeth, of Brooklyn Park, MN. She is preceded in death by her ex-husband, Everette Philen, Parents Earl and Helen Swengston of Minneapolis, MN, sister Shirley Hill, of Sacramento, California, and Brother Denise Swengston of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Karen was born on January 20, 1944, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She graduated from Robbinsdale High School in 1962. After moving to California, she worked for Quebecor Inc. as an Inventory Manager for over 20 years. After returning to Minnesota in 2000, she worked for C.H. Robinson for 10 years.

A small graveside service and interment is scheduled for 3:30pm on October 8, 2021, at Crystal Lake Cemetery, 3816 Penn Avenue North Minneapolis, Minnesota.
