Obituary of Joel Christianson

Joel Christianson left his home on earth to be with his Father in Heaven on September 26, 2021.  He was born on June 14, 1938 to Theodore and Esther and grew up on a farm near Fertile, MN. He graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN majoring in mathematics and physical education. It was there he met his wife of 61 years, Naomi Rud. He taught for three years, then moved to the Twin Cities to become a computer programmer at Unisys until retirement.

Joel is survived by wife Naomi, sons, Mark (Beth), Mike (Liezl), Matt (Sheila) and eight grandchildren; David, Megan, Amanda, Tyler, Rayna, Mikelle, Ana and Aiden. They were the joy of his life. He is also survived by his siblings; Ellen, Virgil and Arlene.
Joel enjoyed a happy and full life centered around family, friends and faith. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, golfing, woodwork, watching sports, especially his grandchildren. We will miss him with his gentle spirit and quiet humor.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 at Berean Baptist Church in Burnsville, Mn 309 County Rd 42.  Visitation at 10:00am and service to follow at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers memorials will be given to the American Diabetes Association.
