I worked the midnight to 8 a.m. shift @ Minot AFB as an Aircraft Electrician the early '70's, Rich was in Job Control and dispatched me on any work that needed to be done. I also worked part time at the on base grocery store an gas station. When we got to know each other he would let me into the control room. Behind their lighted control board was a 3 foot wide shelf. I'd climb up on it, use my tool bag as a pillow and catch up on my sleep. If he needed me he'd throw an eraser over the board and bonk me in the head with it. I'd jump up, grab my tool bag, hop into our FM2 flight line panel truck and head to the flight line asking Rch over the radio what he needed me for. Operations was so impressed with my speed in responding to work orders they began calling me "Fast Freddie". Don't know if they ever discovered I usually napped behind the Control Room control board.
