Obituary of Patricia Marie Helen Pavlik (Michiels)
Patricia Marie Helen Michiels Pavlik, 98, of Inver Grove Heights, died Thursday, September 23, 2021, at home of natural causes. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, spouse, and beloved daughter, Virginia Marie. She is survived by her daughters, Anna Marie (Richard) Rosen, Martha Zemur (Mike McGorray), Claire Pavlik (Marc Armstrong), and Sarah Pavlik (Kenneth Putt); son, John Pavlik; grandchildren, Daniel, Carter, Hannah, and Fiona; siblings-in- law, Rosemarie Michiels, Genevieve Popa, Pauline and Frank Sebest, and Richard Ladner.
Born April 19, 1923, in Chicago, IL, Patricia received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at Loyola University, Chicago. She worked as a laboratory biologist for Great Lakes Carbon and G.D. Searle Company, supporting her family prior to marriage to Frank J. Pavlik and subsequently raised six children. Patricia’s interests included fine and applied arts, horticulture, especially trees and houseplants, world cultures, ethnic food, and understanding wild animal environments. Most of all, Patricia enjoyed meeting and talking with all people, including church members, neighbors, retail employees, her health care workers, and family.
Grateful thanks are extended for the visits by longtime friends and their support provided during the Covid-19 pandemic, especially in the past 5 months as her health declined. The family is grateful to the Avalon Hospice care team, the Woodwinds Hospital medical community, as well as care of the many clinics specialists in the Twin Cities area.
Per her wishes, the celebration of her life will take place at her spiritual home, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 4537 3rd Ave S., Minneapolis, at 11 am, Thursday, October 7, 2021, with visitation 1 hour prior. Interment will take place on the church grounds following the mass. Masks are required.
