Obituary of Victor J. Charmelo

Victor J. Charmelo, a resident of Lake Nebagamon, died Wednesday, July 28, at Essentia Health - St. Mary’s Medical Center, Duluth. Private family services will be held at a later date.

Victor was born December 11, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois. He moved to Lake Nebagamon in 1971. He received a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. He was an avid comic book and baseball card collector. He was a devoted White Sox fan, rarely missing a radio or televised game, and was overjoyed to attend the team’s fantasy camp. He was also a passionate movie buff, especially westerns.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Victor, along with his brother Bill and his sister Catherine.

He is survived by his sister-in-law Donna Charmelo; nieces Julie Charmelo Nguyen (Phil) (Chicago), JoAnne Cain (Lake Nebagamon), Cynthia Coletta (Thomas Tuttle) (Solon Springs), and Lillian Cain (Lake Nebagamon); nephews Michael Coletta (Julie Ng) (San Francisco, CA), Anthony Coletta (Lake Nebagamon), James Coletta (Susan Johnston) (Park City, UT), Eric Charmelo (Phillip Howard) (Los Angeles, CA), John Coletta (Sabrina Obeso) (Portland, OR), and William Cain (Lake Nebagamon).
