Obituary of Linda Marie Lemert

Linda Marie Lemert, 70, passed away of natural causes on September 7, 2021. One of nine children, she was born in Maryland to Russell Lemert, a U.S. Navy Commander, and Mary Lemert, a homemaker. 

After attending St. Francis College in Fort Wayne, Indiana, L. Marie graduated from The University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point Teacher Corps program, and subsequently taught kindergarten in Beloit, Wisconsin. She also volunteered with the Southern Poverty Law Center. L. Marie moved to Duluth, Minnesota in 1977, and considered it her adopted hometown. In Duluth, she volunteered with the Loaves and Fishes Community. She resided in West Duluth for over 20 years and loved the people and community there. While there, she worked at the postal encoding center. 

L.  Marie is remembered for her intelligence, generosity, and witty sense of humor. She is survived by her children, Seth Felice of Gallup, New Mexico, and Meghan Felice of Brooklyn, New York, and seven siblings: Randy Lemert (Connie) of Surprise, AZ.; Bonnie Lemert of Henderson, NV.; Bruce “Bert” Lemert (Doris); Susan Zimmer (Paul); Paul Lemert (Jeannie); John Lemert (Marty); and Brian Lemert (Angie), all of Fort Wayne, IN. L. Marie was preceded in death by her daughter Caitlin, her parents, and brother, David Lemert (Ginny) of Fremont, CA.

Honoring her wishes, L. Marie will be cremated; there will be no funeral services. L. Marie enjoyed the natural beauty of Duluth’s Oneota Cemetery; her ashes will be scattered privately at her daughter Caitlin’s grave.
