Obituary of Gloria Elaine Belschner

Belschner, Gloria Elaine Oakley Age 96 of Edina, MN and Tenafly, NJ. Born June 17, 1923. Preceded in death by husband Earl, son Mark, daughter Suzanne Dauphinais, parents Alfred and Helen Ernst Oakley, brother Austin, sister June Dyer. Survived by sister Patricia, children Austin (Nancy) Belschner, Gary (Rosemarie) Belschner, Jay (Shelley) Belschner, daughter-in law, Barbara Belschner; grandchildren Kristin (Trent), Garrett, (Maricely) Jennifer (Nathan), Rachel, Mercedes, Patrick, Mariah, Abraham, Kate, Thomas, Harrison; great grandchildren Rosalie, Atlas, Gavin, Luca, Toby, Callie and many nieces and nephews. Mom and Gram/PopPop to all, Gloria was happiest when she was helping others. Whether monitoring the playground at Edina Schools, or visiting the homebound with Mt Olivet's caregiver program, Gloria brought a smile and an energy to every interaction, but she was never happier than when taking care of her family. Gloria loved spending time with her kids and grandkids, making Speckin-Deckin at Christmas, rolling eggs on Easter, and hosting 'camp' at the family cabin during the summers. She was always ready with an ear to listen, a hug to comfort and words to encourage even through her last days. Gloria will be missed and remembered with love by all who knew her. Gone ahead, not gone until we are together again. Memorials preferred to Mt. Olivet's Cathedral of the Pines Camp or Presbyterian Homes of Bloomington, Bridgeway. A celebration of Gloria's life will be held at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church at a future date.
