Obituary of Iva Harbor Moison
Iva Harbor Moison
Iva Moison, age 88, of Bloomington, formerly of Apple Valley, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on August 29th.
Iva was born and raised in Florence, Alabama. She attended Florence State Teacher's College, now University of North Alabama, with a B.A. in Business Administration. She met her husband, Bob, when he was stationed in Alabama while in the Army Corps of Engineers. They married on August 6th, 1955 and moved to Delaware, then to Minnesota in 1964.
She was raised a Christian and was always guided by her faith. Singing hymns in both times of joy and trial brought Iva peace, until the very end. She was grateful and committed to her family and friends.
Her overriding desire was to help others and make them feel special and loved, through cooking, caring, spending time. Those who knew her best, learned how better to love others by her example. Iva enjoyed many things; walking, cooking, birds, flowers and gardening, anything Sound of Music and of course chocolate.
Iva was loved, is missed greatly, and will always be cherished.
Preceded in death by her husband Robert Leon and infant son Mark Robert; parents, Clinton and Edna; sisters Miriam and Frances and brother Samuel; daughter-in-law Cindy. Survived by her son, Sam and granddaughter, Monique; and daughter, Amy (Donovan) Moore.
Special thanks to the caring staff of Bridgeway at Presbyterian Homes of Bloomington and Optage Hospice.

One of Iva’s favorite scripture:
‘I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.’ Psalm 121:1-2 ESV.
