Queen Freeman

Obituary of Queen Ester Freeman

Queen Ester Freeman was called home on Sunday, August 22nd, 2021.

A Queen was born January 19th, 1943, to her mother Mary McCray in Pine Bluff Arkansas. During Queen’s childhood, she was forced to look after her youngest brother and sisters. Queen later had three children of her own out of wedlock and eventually moved her three children to Chicago, Illinois in hopes of a better life.

While residing in Illinois, Queen married and had two more children.

As the life of Chicago became unbearable, in 1985 Queen divorced and moved her youngest daughter (Honey Honey) Nicole Freeman to  Minneapolis, Minnesota, where two of her eldest children were residing, Reginald and Susan Williams.

After her youngest daughter became an adult and after many years of caring for her grandchildren, Queen moved to Duluth, MN to care for her daughter Susan and grandchildren Justin and Keaton Hunter.

During Queen’s residency of Duluth, MN, Queen touched many hearts along the way.

Queen found comfort in studying many religions like Christianity, Catholicism, Mormonism, and often had bible studies with each.

It is only right to acknowledge and be proud to know our Mother was, in fact, universal in all things of life.

To hear how our Mother touched so many souls, and the words they use like: "What a great woman Queen was", "a still force" , "Queen was a true icon" -are music to each of our souls and I/we are proud to continue our Mother’s legacy.

Queen lived a life of what she did best, nourishing the soul. Her presence filled your heart with gold, and one wrong touch your heart would sore, but eased with a very short life lecture of grace that will surely carry in your hearts for life.

As our Mother Queen’s presence is deeply missed and has lead to Heartbrokenness. I leave us all with a poem that is filled with many of our Mother’s last wishes.

I’M FREE

BY ROBERT M BURCHAM

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free

I’m following the path God laid for me.

I took His hand when I heard Him call

I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day, to laugh, to love,     to work or play.

Task undone must stay that way.

I found that peace at close of day.

If my partying has left a void

Then fill it with remembered joy.

Queen’s memories will be forever cherished by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren.

Queen’s children, Nicole Freeman, Patricia Smith, Reginald,  Kenneth and Susan Williams.

Queen’s Grandchildren, Justin and Keaton Hunter, Levar P, LaToya Williams, Timothy and Natalie Smith, Kenith and Kevin Williams.

Queen’s great grandchildren, Mar Kelle and Javair Schlosser, Amir, Princeton and Kyrie Hunter, Elizabeth, Emily, Timothy Jr. and Elliot Smith.
