Obituary of Scott Kenneth Pomeroy

Scott Kenneth Pomeroy Jr., 37, Colorado Springs, Colo., died Sunday, Aug. 15, in UCHealth Memorial Hospital from an undiagnosed medical condition.

Scott (Scottie) Kenneth Pomeroy Jr., of Colorado Springs, died unexpectedly on August 15, 2021, at the age of 37 at UCHealth Memorial Hospital following an undiagnosed medical condition.  Scott, the son of Scott Sr. and Cathy Schmitt was born on October 17, 1983 in Duluth, Minnesota.  He graduated from Fond du Lac Tribal & Community College with an associate’s degree.  Scott worked as a nursing assistant, but his true passion was sports, especially football, and motorcycles.  Scottie was a kind, lovable man, son & brother, a friend to all, and we will miss him greatly.

Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents Lyle & Marilyn Pomeroy and Ronald Schmitt.  He is survived by his parents Cathy Schmitt of Eagan and Scott Pomeroy Sr. of Moundsview; sister Angela (Shane) Hraban; nephews Hunter, Jackson Brown; nieces Emilee, Abigail Brown and Kennedy Hraban of Cloquet; grandmother Judy McGillivray of Duluth; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

A service for Scott is being held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota-Duluth.  Visitation will be held at 2:00p.m., followed by a service at 3:00p.m.
