Obituary of Ardith Marie Glockzin
Ardith Marie Glockzin peacefully passed on to the next life on August 14th, 2021 in Coon Rapids. She was born Baby Grace in Minneapolis on February 12, 1943, and adopted by Arthur and Evelyn Gusey of Olivia, MN shortly after birth. Ardie Gusey grew up in Olivia in the house her father built, and after graduation attended St. Cloud State where she met Thomas A. Pluth. They married in 1964 and had four children. Ardie was divorced in 1982 and worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aid at Northridge Care Center for many years. In 1985 she married Calvin D. Glockzin and they lived in several locations in northern Minnesota, often buying and fixing up old homes to sell. Ardie was an avid quilter and many of her family members and friends have a piece of her famous artwork to remember her by. She was preceded in death by her husband, and is survived by her sister, Carol Senkyr and John of Bird Island, MN children, Thomas and Lisa Pluth of Highlandville, MO, Cindy and Mike Potvin of Cedar, MN, Tim and Beth Pluth of Eau Claire, WI, Cara and Brady Nagel of Eau Claire, WI, and stepson Howard Glockzin of St. Cloud MN, along with 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Memorial service to be held Saturday August 21st at 11:00 am, with visitation beginning at 10:00 at Cross of Calvary Lutheran Church, 1103 West Chestnut Avenue, Olivia MN 56277. Luncheon to follow. She will be interred with her husband in the Minnesota Veteran’s Cemetery in Little Falls in a private family ceremony.
