Obituary of Gary D Oachs

Beloved Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, Gary Oachs, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 14, 2021.

Preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Barbara, his brothers Daryl, Robert and Loren, his father, Donald and his granddaughter Cassandra (Kat). He is survived by his children: Gary Jr, Cherie (Rick), Manning and Melissa; his mother; Barbara, his sisters; Linda (Steward) and Joann, his grandchildren’ Justin (Heather), Jessica (Jeremy), Terrence (Maria), Nicholas (Victoria), William (Taylor), Ashlee, Adam, Krystal (Charles) and Shawn and his great grandchildren; Hailey, Abigail, Lyla, Daisy, Drake, Brock, Brady, Addison, Colton, Maxwell, Lily and Isabella.

Gary was born in Mankato to Donald and Barbara Oachs on November 28, 1939. He married Barbara Ann McCorkle on April 24, 1959 and moved to White Bear Lake MN. He worked as a toolmaker for FMC for several years, was a member of the volunteer fire department, an avid runner, ham radio operator and novice astronomer.  

A Memorial Service will be held on August 28^th at 1:30, at the Cremation Society of MN, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Park MN 55445, with a visitation at 1:00 and a reception following.

Gary’s family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to River Oaks in Anoka – where Dad spent many happy years, and to Suite Living in Ramsey and Hospice of the Midwest for making Dad’s final months comfortable and peaceful.
