Obituary of Kimberly Shawn Yoraway (Leary)

Beloved Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Niece, Cousin, Friend, passed away peacefully in her home on 8/5/21 due to complications following a courageous battle with throat cancer.

Kim was born July 16th, 1959 in Edenton, North Carolina and was the second born and only daughter of Harold (Max) Leary and Vida (Ferne) Brossard Leary. Max and Ferne moved around often in Kim’s early life due to Max’s life in the military before calling Crystal, Minnesota home for good in 1964 to be close to Ferne’s family. She followed in her father’s footsteps and became an excellent barber before landing a successful career in sales for many years with The Electrical Advertiser as well as other places in her later years. Kim was known for her sweet and charming personality to all who interacted with her, her glass half full mentality no matter what challenge she faced in life, her immaculate housekeeping which took after her Mother, her amazing sense of style to turn any place she lived into an exotic locale, and her fantastic home cooking.

Kim was preceded in death by her father, Max; mother, Ferne; sister-in-law, Joleen Leary; nephews, Kyle and Ken Leary; aunts, Lucille Haag, Lorraine Gaspar and Marilyn Ristow, and other cousins and relatives.

She is survived by son, Evan Yoraway (Jen); granddaughters, Evangeline and Meadow Yoraway; brother, Tom Leary; aunt, Linda (Gail) Lippert; uncle, Gary Brossard (Shirley), nephews, Mike and Jason Leary; niece, Nicole Leary, as well as numerous cousins and relatives. She is also survived by her beloved cat King Henry.
