Obituary of Otto Herman Neuenfeldt

On Tuesday, July 27, 2021, Otto Herman Neuenfeldt, father of four, passed away peacefully at Benedictine Living Community Duluth, MN at age 106.

 

Otto was born on December 2, 1914 in St Paul, MN.  He Attended St, Paul High school Class of 1933.  Otto Joined the United States Marine Corps on July 6, 1942 and did two tours of duty in Okinawa Jan 8, 1943 thru May 1 1944 and Iwo Jima April 12, 1945 to Feb 3, 1946. Otto was Honorably Discharged on July 6, 1946 as a technical Sergeant.  He was married twice and had two daughters Judy and Barbra from first marriage, and second marriage had two sons, David and Mark.

 

Otto had a passion for woodworking and everything outdoors. He loved to go camping, hunting and fishing with his kids he was a very accomplished and good angler and well known in the Brainerd lakes area. Otto worked many different jobs from Bartender to Maintenance grounds keeper at the Edgewater Inn Breezy Point.  Otto’s biggest passion was his boys taking then on different adventures outdoors. Fishing on Lake Superior for Lake Trout and Salmon, was his dream and spent many hours on the big lake, after his retirement he and his wife purchased property in Duluth so he was closer to where he loved to fish.

 

He was known for being extremely handy and able to fix and do just about anything you could say he was the (handy-man’s handy-man) he was always willing to help out and assist someone in need. Otto was preceded in death by wife Bonnie, He is survived by his two sons, David, Mark and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.  No funeral services are being held.
