Obituary of Debra (Timonen) Smith

Debra (Timonen) Smith, 55, of Proctor, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Inter-Faith Care Center, Carlton, after a brief battle with uterine cancer. Deb was born in Moose Lake, MN to Ray & Mary Timonen. 

Deb grew up in Carlton, graduated from Carlton HS in 1984. She was employed for the past 22 years at Kindred at Home as a care team coordinator, & was past employed with Vaydich Enterprises & Kmart.  Deb was married to Scott Smith in 2001, they made their home in Proctor, and enjoyed many years of camping at Bent Trout Lake. Debbie was an avid Vikings fan, loved to shop,  and decorate for the holidays. 

Deb was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, and is survived by siblings: Jane (Randy) Willie, Barb Hickey, Gary Timonen; nieces Andrea Hickey & Jenna Willie; nephews Dan (Abby) Willie & Nathan (Kim) Hickey; step-children Eric (Melissa) Smith &  Tanya Smith, & step-grandchildren Ethan & Eli Smith. 

Please join Deb’s family as we  celebrate her life on Sat., July 17, 2021, 4-7pm at the home of Jane Willie, 1906 W Chub Lk Rd, Box 505, Carlton, MN. Please bring a chair & try to rideshare. Wear your Vikings gear!
