Aileen Smith Gaasch

Age 88, of St. Paul. Died peacefully June 12, 2021. Born to Aileen & T.O. Smith on July 7, 1932, in Fargo, ND. B.A. in Education, Mt. Mary College (Milwaukee, WI). Married Raymond Gaasch 1959, widowed 1976. Survived by brother Phil (Liz Smith), children Tom, Mary (Matt Koncar) and Ann Gaasch, and grandchildren Ash, Loue and Lloyd Koncar. Aileen devoted herself to family, faith, and volunteering. In turns wry and playful, she adored having guests and shooing them home, devoured mystery books, and had a story or saint for every occasion. Visitation at 9 a.m. and funeral mass 10 a.m., Thursday, July 29, St. Hedwig Church, Minneapolis. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Catholic Eldercare.
