Obituary of June Marion Anderson
June Marion Anderson
Age 92 of South Minneapolis passed away peacefully in her sleep the early morning hours of July 6th. June was born Nov. 24, 1928 to Adolph and Edithe Ahlgren. She grew up in South Minneapolis along with her brother, Don. While Don played the trumpet with a band, June was a member of a singing trio during high school – singing those great songs of the 30s and 40s. Married Sept. 15, 1950 to Sheldon (Bud) Anderson. She and Bud, were very active and enjoyed life. They especially enjoyed their place in Brainerd on Upper South Long Lake, visiting the North Shore, gathering with friends, playing cards, etc. She and Bud were active members of Wold American Legion Post on 34th Ave. in South Minneapolis. June was an avid reader and a member of two book clubs, also a writers’ club. Friendship was a very important part of her life – gathering with her old friends from as far back as grade school for a yearly get together up on the North Shore. She was a real nature and animal lover.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bud; parents, Edithe and Adolph, brother, Don, great nephew, Eric. Survived by her son, Matt, daughter, Kari, three grand children, two great grandchildren, loving nieces and nephews and many many friends.
A Celebration of her Life will take place in the fall, at the lake, among the pine and birch trees she loved so well. In honor of June’s enduring love of animals, a donation to the Animal Humane Society in Golden Valley would be most welcome.
