Obituary of Kenneth J. Oliver
Kenneth J. Oliver, Jr of Duluth, MN, 76, passed away on May 31, 2021. He was born in Superior, WI on January 19, 1945 to Kenneth J. Oliver, Sr and Irene Arneson Oliver.
Preceded in death by his parents, wife Janet and stepdaughter Denice Hill (Rob). Survived by wife Dianna; sons Jeffrey (Robin) and Robert; stepdaughter Pam (Dean) McWilliams; siblings Sharon Wilson, Sandra (Brian) Mackyol, Mike Oliver, Debbie (Jeff) Couch, William (Kathy) Oliver, Christine Kneebone, Jeffrey E. (Kelley) Oliver; grandchildren Johnathan (Lauren) Oliver, Emily (Zach) Breemeersch, Mandi (Michael) Dunham; step-grandchildren Dustin and Chelsey Hill; great-grandchildren Erika Lynn, Ryder, Jacob, Delany and Charlotte; and many nieces and nephews.
Ken was proud to serve his country in the Army as an Artillery Specialist in Germany from 1961-1966. His mission in life was to help veterans and seniors through volunteering. Ken was a member of Gilbert Nordmann Disabled American Veterans Chapter 6 as treasurer, American Legion Post 71 as chaplin and a past commander, the American Legion 8th District as treasurer, a member of Sons of the Legion and Auxiliary, a Tax Aid for AARP for 40 years, and treasurer and captain of his cribbage league.
Ken was a respected member of St. Andrews by the Lake Episcopal Church and served as their treasurer. Ken was a very fine Christian man. He will be remembered with much love and missed by many, especially his wife Dianna.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, July 10th at 2pm at St. Andrews by the Lake Episcopal Church, 2802 Minnesota Ave., Park Point. A reception will follow at the American legion 5814 Grand Ave, Duluth.
