Obituary of Larry B. Koenck

Larry Koenck, age 81, of Eagan, MN passed away peacefully June 16, 2021 at the NC Little Hospice in Edina, Mn

Larry B. Koenck was born in Armstrong, IA on April 7, 1940 to Emil and Marie (Wiese) Koenck.  1 of 11 children they lived on various farms in Southern MN and Northern IA.

He attended High School in Welcome, MN where he met and later married Judith Snyder and together, they had 3 children, Kevin, Kristine, & Terry.  They raised their family in Rochester, MN and were later divorced.

Larry attended College at Mankato State University and got his Teaching degree in Physical Education and History.  He taught Elementary Physical Education in Rochester, MN for over 30 years.  He continued his education at Winona State and received his Masters Degree.  He was an active member with the Teachers Union holding several positions, President of the Rochester Education Association, Secretary/Treasurer of the Minnesota Education Association, and President of the Retired Teachers Association.  He enjoyed traveling to visit family, watching his favorite sports teams, Gophers, Twins, Vikings and Wild, socializing with friends and family, and supporting and spending time with his 2 grandsons.

Larry is survived by his children:  Kevin Koenck (Pam Nelson), Kris Checco (Al), Terry Koenck. Grandchildren:  Cory and Austin Checco.  Brothers, Bob Koenck (Barb), David Koenck (Kathy), Sister Kay Steinberg (Chuck).  And many many cherished nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Brothers, Bill, Paul, Merlyn and Loyal. Sisters, Eileen, Jeanne and Gail.

A Private memorial will be held for the family at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of your choice.
