Obituary of Mary Folke

Folke, Mary Catherine (Finneran) of Apple Valley, passed away on May 20, 2021. Mary was born in Queens, New York on July 6, 1947. She graduated from the Mary Louis Academy, an all girls private collage preparation academy and St. John's University before working at Equitable Life Insurance in New York City. In 1973 Mary moved to Apple Valley, MN, where she worked as a school bus driver and a punch press operator. In 1986 she joined the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier from which she retired in August of 2010 after 25 years. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and William Finneran; former husband, Phillip Herzog; brothers, Andrew, William, Vincent, Lawrence, Patrick and Peter; and sister, Christina. Survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Denny; brother, Brian; daughters, Kathleen (Casper) Clausen and Bridget (Rob) Gaer; sons, Christopher and Kevin; Scott Folke and Shannon Folke Johnson; grandsons, Chris Jr., Vinny and Nate. She was the beloved "Aunt Mimi" to all her nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mary's life will be held July 18, 2021 at the American Legion in Apple Valley from 12-4.
