Obituary of Mary Catherine Folke

Mary Catherine Folke (Finneran) of Apple Valley passed away on May 20th, 2021. Mary was born in Queens, New York on July 6, 1947. She graduated from The Mary Louis Academy, an all-girls private college preparatory academy, and St. John's University before working at Equitable Life Insurance in New York City. In 1973, Mary moved to Apple Valley, MN where she worked as a school bus driver and a punch press operator. In 1986, she joined the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier from which she retired in August of 2010 after 25 years. Mary was preceded in death by her parents Mary and William Finneran, her former husband Phillip Herzog, as well as brothers Andrew, William, Vincent, Lawrence, Patrick, Peter and sister, Christina. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Denny, her brother Brian, daughters Kathleen (Casper) Clausen and Bridget (Rob) Gaer, sons Christopher, Kevin, Scott Folke and Shannon Folke Johnson. She is also survived by grandsons Chris Jr., Vinny and Nate. Mary was the beloved "Aunt Mimi" to all her nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mary's life will be held on July 18, 2021 at the American Legion in Apple Valley from 12:00-4:00 P.M.
