Obituary of Mary Nelson

Mary Nelson went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, May 21, 2021.  She was born on September 12, 1930 to James and Zelda Reynolds in Clontarf, Minnesota.

On June 22, 1957, May and Richard (Dick) Nelson were united in marriage in Minneapolis, MN.  They were blessed with three sons, Mike, Don, and Tim; who all later married and provided Mary with her "daughters"; Lori, Lori and Barbara.  

Mary held a deep faith in God and was known for always finding a church wherever she was to celebrate Saturday night Mass.  She loved her family deeply and enjoyed time watching their sports and events over her lifetime.  She also enjoyed spending many summers on the 'annual' 4th of July vacation on  Lake Vermillion.  Her quick smart-witted humor was enjoyed by all.

Mary is survived by her loving sons, Mike (Lori), Don (Lori), and Tim; grandchildren:  Lindsey (Tim) Schwanz , Josh, Nicolette (Mark) Madero, Chris, Cassie, and Natalie; brother-in-law Dennis (Marilyn) Nelson; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Nelson; her parents, brothers and sisters; and daughter-in-law Barbara.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday June 11, 2021 at 11am at St. Alphonsus Church, 7025 Halifax Ave N, Brooklyn Center, MN 55429.  Visitation will be held 1 hour before the service.

Interment will be at Fort Snelling, where she will be laid to rest with her husband Richard, at a later date.
