Obituary of Carol Kiel

Carol (Friauf) Kiel passed away on Christmas morning at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, MN, her husband John was by her side. She was born in Toledo, OH to Robert and Marjorie Friauf.

Carol grew up in Whitefish Bay, WI where she graduated high school. She attended National College of Education in Evanston, IL. Carol met her future husband, John, in 1964 on a blind date. They were married in 1968 in Milwaukee. Carol and John moved to Solon Springs, WI in 1975 where they bought a house and made it a home. Carol enjoyed working with the students and staff at Solon Springs High School for over 25 years as a paraeducator. For many years, Carol was a member of the Solon Springs Volunteer Fire Department and Auxiliary. Carol and John enjoyed traveling; they loved taking their grandchildren with them on summer trips to many parts of the United States.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marjorie Friauf.

She is survived by her husband John, their children John and Kim Kiel, Catherine and Jon Scheldroup, their grandchildren Tyler Kiel, Cierra Kiel, Austin McKee, Paige Scheldroup, Cooper Scheldroup and their great-grandchild, Beau Kiel, Carol’s brothers, Robert and Donna Friauf, James and Cindy Friauf.
