Obituary of Larry Lee Buberl

Larry Lee Buberl, 79, of Stillwater,Minnesota, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2020 due to complications from his battle with cancer. He was surely greeted by his mother Dorothy, who passed away on November 1, 2011, nine years previously.

Larry joined the United States Army at the age of 18 and went on to enjoy a fulfilling lifetime career. He was a Vietnam veteran and was involved in many of the country’s historic events, but he was most proud of being a part of the Screaming Eagles, 101st Airborne Division. He retired from the military with the rank of Master Sergeant and began a second career as an instructor of military history and coach of the rifle team at St Thomas Academy. He also spent 22 years as a part-time police officer for the city of Stillwater and several years as a part-time correctional officer at the Oak Park Heights, Minnesota Correctional Facility.

Larry spent his free time gardening, listening to music, watching the wildlife around his home and volunteering for the Memorial Rifle Team at Fort Snelling. He loved his “ranch” and was able to spend his last days there being cared for family.

A tree will be planted and his ashes spread in the orchard he loved, along with his beloved dog Nicky and cat Ambie.
