Obituary of Heidi Jo Ferry

Known and loved for her Stubbornness, Heidi Jo Ferry at the age of 53, passed away on May 7th, 2021, in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Heidi Jo Ferry was born in Minneapolis, to Barbara Darleen Ferry and Bruce Conroy Ferry.

I grew up in North Minneapolis, Camden area with my sister’s Mindi Rehbein, Wendi Valdez and Brother Jody Ferry.

Yes! when I arrived, I blinked; No buildings named after me; no monuments erected in my honor. I was quite the energetic teenager that pushed the envelope and was shipped to boarding school where I excelled and achieved awards for my needle point skills that I had perfected. I had an amazing memory throughout my time in school and could recite pages from the bible, I loved my love for the bible and my relationship with God was always with me throughout my life.

One of my first jobs was working at Kentucky Fried Chicken. My sister, Mindi, worked really hard to get them to hire me, I had never had a job before, but how hard could it be.. Well, I lasted for 2 days, I had to quit because I couldn’t tell you what the five pieces of chicken are. -Thank you Mindi

My first born was Sharleen Cabral (Ferry) who made me a mother at 19, I than was pregnant and had twins Courtney & Corey Ferry.

Corey has blessed me with my grandchildren Jayden Ferry & Armiriana Ferry,

Courtney has her twins Imara & Isaiha Jackson

I loved spending the time I got with my grandchildren.

Life was a hectic as a single mother of three, we moved a lot but that prepared the kids to be the quickest efficient / professional movers ever! I’m sure my brother Joe will be happy that he is off the hook from my phone calls asking him to come move me one more time.

(we all know it wasn’t the last move.)

I loved holidays and putting on a good party with my friends and family, when and IF I’m in the mood for it.

Don’t piss me off because I’ll take the turkey from Thanksgiving and just leave you with only side dishes. In all fairness I probley started it.

Just another party that I was so happy to throw, was for my daughter in law, for my first grandchild, I wanted everyone there and oh did you all show up! I wasn’t prepared, got overwhelmed and decided to take a break and sit in my closet with a cigarette and a beer.

I loved escaping to my mother and fathers’ home they built on Green lake in Princeton, Minnesota. Many weekends sleeping in and being catered to like the princess. My mother always made me breakfast and we loved to have our morning coffee, I would drink my coffee all day, I Liked being the night owl.

I loved a good laugh and a good joke as the Ferry family would all agree. One year I made slippers from maxi pads and I thought it was a hoot!

I loved spending the summers bathing in the sun to get the perfect golden skin color as my children have. My nails needed to be done hot pink as it was always my first choice, vibrant color with anything fashion forward and flashy.

I loved going to shop at the thrift stores, garage sales along with going to the lakes and beaches with my best of friend Terri having fun and raising our kids. This was the proudest time of my life. You were always such a great friend.

I have so many nieces and nephews I couldn’t keep up with. I loved them all in my heart , you all drove me nuts and I always let you know.

Don’t you all forget, I will get you my prettys …

I've been a handful of a daughter, sister, and mother and somewhat of just a pain in everyone’s ass. If you didn’t hear a curse word or a rant from me, I probley didn’t like ya much anyway. I showed my love in many ways.

I was a mother, a true and loyal friend. And if you don't believe it, just ask me. Oh wait, I'm afraid it's too late for questions.
