Obituary of Larry Lester Skoglund

Larry Lester Skoglund, age 77, passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving wife on April 18th.

Larry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Carol; son, John; daughter, Jennifer Clark (Bill); brother, Ron; grandchildren, Nate, Michael, Joshua, Chloe, and Nick, and preceded in death by his parents Lester Skoglund and Alice Skoglund and sister, Barb Kozlovski.

Larry grew up in West Duluth and was a graduate of Denfeld High School. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army National Guard and a member of the American Legion. He cherished his time with friends at “The Spa” and considered time on McGregor’s Big Sandy River his happy place. Larry spent the first half of his working career with National Iron and eventually retired from the University of Minnesota Duluth as the manager of the Bull Dog Shop. He loved old cars and took great joy driving his 70’ Cutlass during the summers.

Larry’s family would like to thank the amazing staff at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center and the caring angels from St. Croix Hospice for the incredible and compassionate care they offered Larry during his final weeks.

A memorial service will be held on May 1st at 3:00 with visitation one hour prior at the Minnesota Cremation Society, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth.
