Jerome Heideman

Obituary of Jerome Richard Frank Heideman

Jerome (Jerry) Richard Frank Heideman, 88 of Duluth, MN died April 24, 2021, in Duluth, MN.

Jerry was born April 10, 1933 in Beloit, WI to George and Goldie Heideman. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He had a tour in Vietnam and was stationed on Guam for two years with his family. His area of knowledge was meteorology which he still loved. While in the military, he saw the world. He returned to Duluth and worked at the Duluth Air Force Base until he retired in 1973.

Jerry is best known for his infamous scowl and his love of popcorn on Wednesdays and sweets. He loved animals except for those “damn” pigeons. He loved the American flag and faithfully tended to the flag he had in the front yard. He had many breakfasts at Bridgeman’s. In the earlier years, there were many family gatherings at the Heideman cabin in Solon Springs where everyone enjoyed pontooning, swimming, grilling, and fireworks. We will miss his wit, humor, and his sassy smile.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Heideman, of 63 years; daughter Sue (Jim) Kielty of Barnum; Grandchildren, Penny (Brian) Harris, Las Vegas, NV; Lianna (Justin) Kaiser, Iron River, WI; Taylor Fagan, Moose Lake, MN; Mikayla Kielty (Aaron Hanson) Carlton, MN, and Kyle Kielty, Barnum, MN and several great-grandchildren.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father and mother George and Goldie Heideman, brother Robert, and son Scott.

A memorial gathering for friends and family will be held at Jim and Sue Kielty’s home at 3987 Point Road, Barnum, MN 55707 from 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, May 15.
