Obituary of Martha Virginia Walker

Martha Virginia Walker, 87, of Chanhassen MN died peacefully on March 3, 2021. Martha was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles Albert; her parents, Marcus and Willie Jo Hancock (White); and her brothers, Mark and George Hancock. Martha is survived by her children, Tim (Lori), Mark (Maureen) and Carla (Albert) Priester; as well as 10 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren.

Martha was born in Dallas Texas and attended Pleasant Grove High School and the University of Texas. Martha and Charlie were married in 1955 and moved from Dallas Texas to Minnetonka Minnesota in 1961. Martha brought her vibrant personality and love of Texas to Minnesota. Martha worked part-time while raising the family and spent 15 years with Sears in the Minneapolis area. Martha loved gardening, the Lake Cabin, her bridge friends, neighbors and her family.

The family would like to thank Covenant Living of Golden Valley, Methodist Hospital Hospice and Good Samaritan Services for their wonderful care of Martha.

Martha and Charles will be interred together at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

A luncheon for Martha will be held on June 21, 2021, 11:30am – 2:30pm, Lakeside Pavilion, Lake Ann Park, 1456 West 78^th Street, Chanhassen, MN.
