Obituary of Lucille Jackman

Lucille “Lu” Jackman, 86 of Duluth, Minnesota passed away peacefully at home on March 8, 2021 surrounded by family. She was born on October 23, 1934 in Freeborn County, Minnesota to Stella (Pyzick) and Joseph Mucha where she grew up on the family farm with her five siblings.

 

Lu moved to Duluth in the 1950’s where she raised her four children. After attending the Duluth Business University, she worked at the Duluth Clinic for forty-four years. Following retirement, she enjoyed monthly lunches with former co-workers. She was a member of St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church and was proud of her Polish heritage. Lu was strong and independent passing these traits onto her children. She also had a great sense of humor. She was supportive of her grandchildren and loved spending time with them.  She enjoyed watching the ships on Lake Superior from her home, being outdoors, reading, crossword puzzles, and traveling.    

 

Preceded in death: Parents; Siblings: Claude Mucha, Lucretia Webster, Martha Golden, and Rita Prescher. Survived by her children: Sandra (Kent) Johnson of Stacy, MN, Jason Jackman of Superior, WI, Tracy Jackman of Duluth, MN, and Renee (Kevin) Olson of Duluth, MN. Grandchildren: Chace Johnson, Justin Jackman, Alyssa Jackman, Brittney Olson, McKenzie Olson Trey Jackman, Wyatt Johnson, Shelby Olson, Rachel Jackman, and Dawson Johnson. Sister: Delores Fisher of Albert Lea and many nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 27th at 10:00 am at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 325 E. 3rd Street Duluth, MN with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 am. Due to COVID-19 social distancing and masks will be required. A private family burial will take place at a later date. Arrangements are by Cremation Society of Minnesota Duluth.
