Obituary of Jerome Lutz

Jerry Lutz, age 59 of Inver Grove Heights, MN, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 1st 2021, of complications from Advanced Multiple Sclerosis that was diagnosed in 2012. He was born February 1st, 1962 in St. Paul, MN to Paul and Joan Lutz. He grew up in Inver Grove Heights and lived there most of his life. 

He is survived by his children Rochelle (Matthew) Anderson of Esko, MN; Tanya Downs of Foxboro, WI; Jt (Stephanie) Lutz of Silver Bay, MN; and Heather Lutz of Coon Rapids, MN; and his grandsons Parker and Trevor Anderson and Chase and Vincent Downs; and his Mother Joan Lutz; and his brothers John (Mary) Lutz of Danbury, WI; James (Janice) Lutz of Inver Grove Heights, MN; and Joe Lutz of Inver Grove Heights, MN; and nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Paul W. Lutz and his son-in-law Nicholas L. Downs.

Jerry graduated from Simley High School in Inver Grove Heights, MN in 1980. He attended DCTC for his diesel mechanic diploma. He worked at DART Pro Stop in Eagan MN for 14 years. Before his Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis he had been doing fuel transportation for Casey’s General Stores. He loved hunting, fishing, watching football (MN Vikings games specifically) and spending time with his family.

A private family memorial service will be held due to the pandemic. Internment will be June 25th, 2021 at 2:00pm at the Oneota Cemetery in Duluth, MN.
