Obituary of Elaine Palmer

Elaine (Shepherd) Palmer, age 81, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2021.

Elaine was born in Duluth, attended St. Anthony’s Elementary, Washington JR and Central HS and Emily Griffith Business School in Denver, Colorado. She was employed in the food industry and upon retirement in 2004 was recognized as the longest continuous member of the Minnesota and Hotel Restaurant Employees Union. She will be remembered for her kind gentle spirit and resilient nature. A private springtime service is planned.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Francis Wickman and Hulda Marie Heikkila of Duluth; sister, Joanne Almer; daughter, Wendy Shepherd, and husbands, Herbert Shepherd and Thomas Palmer.

She is survived by her three children, Jeffrey and Brad Shepherd of Duluth and Debra (Tom) Palmer of Winters CA; two brothers, Dale (Bonnie) Ninmann of Mahtomedi, MN, and Russ Wickman of Springfield, MO.; grandchildren, Jeremy (Liza) Lassen, Thomas and Tomra Palmer, Jack Shepherd and great-granddaughters, Ryan and Aubrey.
