Obituary of Patricia Duncan

Patricia Joanne Duncan of Hermantown passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Edgewood Vista Memory Care from complications of Alzheimer’s. She was born in 1939 to Raymond and Pearl Majchrzak.

Mom, we appreciate you very much and are grateful for everything you did for us. With love from your family.

Pat was a wife and homemaker for many years and later worked at Kmart, Only Deals and Dollar Tree. When Only Deals became Dollar Tree, Mom was teased because people said she “came with the store”. She was an outstanding worker recognized by her bosses and appreciated by many of her customers. Whenever we were out, Mom always ran into someone she knew. Mom was liked by many and we will miss her sweet spirit.

Mom was fortunate to accompany family to Poland, a trip she thoroughly enjoyed and a trip to visit family out east. Another fun trip was with Aunt Geraldine, when they went to Las Vegas. Family gatherings with her sisters and other family members were an important part of her life.

Mom liked to collect dolls, Fenton glass shoes, baskets and other glassware. She enjoyed the arts: volunteering at the Depot, attending plays, the ballet, painting classes, music and outings with her friend Karin. She loved Pomeranian dogs and had three – Missy, Dolly and Penny.

She was preceded in death by husband Skip (married for 45 years), grandson Derrick, son David, aunt Geraldine, sister Vera, brothers Robert and Danny.

She is survived by aunt Olive, sister Millie, brother Tim, step-mother Polly and brother-in-law Alden. Children: Beth, Terry, Todd (Amanda) and Patrick (Lorraine). Grand children: Jennifer, Tara, Brittany, Kyle, Jacqueline, Nick, Joshua, Alex, Serenity, Dalton, Brianna and Josie, many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and friends.

Thanks to Edgewood Vista Memory Care staff and St. Luke’s Hospice for Mom’s care. Thanks to Lutheran Social Service and their Morning Out and Senior Companion Programs that Mom participated in.
