Obituary of Bette Jean (Wilson) Nord
Bette Jean Nord, 91 of Duluth, died December 27, 2020 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living facility in Duluth, Minnesota. Bette was born on August 22, 1929 in Mora, Minn. to Theodore and Helen Wilson.
Shortly after graduating from Mora High School she married Naylor A. Nord on March 6, 1948. Together, Bette and Naylor raised two children, Larry and Brian. She was a person of great faith and enjoyed attending the United Methodist Church where she was involved in many activities. Bette and Naylor belonged to the Good Sam Club and attend many club camping trips. Both enjoyed camping and the long-lasting friendships they made over the years. They traveled extensively and spent a number of winters in Arizona. Bette also spent hours in her flower gardens and grew the most beautiful flowers. The greatest love in Bette’s life came through her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved each child dearly and kept up to date on their lives.
Bette was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Helen Wilson; husband, Naylor Nord, and sister, Ethyl Wokasch. Surviving are children, Larry (Denise) Nord, Brian (Karen) Nord; five grandchildren, Erica (Scott) Hanson, Heather Nord, Michael Nord, Andrew (Kate Gilboy) Nord and Alan (Jamie) Nord; sister, Thea (David) Huseby; eight great grandchildren, Alex, Julia, Ava, Caden, Mason, Peyton, Everett and Addy; and many nieces and nephews.
A family internment service will be held on January 4, 2021 with burial at the Park Hill Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
