Obituary of Bill Gavin

Gavin, James W. “Bill”, age 71, of Crystal passed away December 25, 2020.

Preceded in death by Parents, William and Mary Gavin; and Baby Brother Joseph, of Monmouth, IL

Survived by Wife of 39 years, Darlene; Sons, Richard (Suksawan) of Rogers, MN and Brian (Amporn), of Temple, TX; Step-Children, Doug Peterson and Gayle (Jerry) Gates; Sister, Linda (Dan) Doyle, of Monmouth, IL; Brother, John (Brenda) Gavin, of Polo, IL; Uncle, John Grady, of LeClair, IA; 9 Grandchildren, Arissara, Phanapong, David, Atsadaporn, Kevin, Kristen, Victoria, David, and Andrew; Many Brothers and Sisters-In-law, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Many Friends.

After graduating from Warren High School, he married and started a family. He worked for the Gamble Hardware Company in Monmouth, Illinois and transferred to Minneapolis headquarters as a buyer. After it closed, he worked at Coast to Coast as a buyer until they moved out of state. He worked in hardware until his retirement.

Bill enjoyed his family and friends. He loved watching sports, especially his Notre Dame team. He also enjoyed playing blackjack at the local casinos.

His smile and infectious laugh will be greatly missed by all, especially by his lifelong friend, Joe Romano and dear friend & brother-in-law, John Conroy.

A memorial service will be held when friends and family may safely gather later this spring.
