Bob was born on Dec. 26, 1949 in AnckerHospital, St. Paul to Hulgar (Sam) and LaDoris Stromberg. He enjoyed growing up with his parents and siblings in Fairhaven, MN, and loved playing sports during his childhood and young adulthood. He had a bachelor’s degree from SouthwestStateUniversity in Marshall, MN and played football on the SWSU Mustang team. Bob retired from Honeywell in Golden Valley; he had also worked for Alliant Techsystems in Arden Hills, MN. He married the love of his life, Sharla Kaye (Winter) Stromberg in 1976. They resided in St. Paul, MN, raising their family, and going on many adventures together. Bob’s best friend was his brother-in-law David Winter. They loved to hunt, fish, four-wheel, watch sports, and joke around with each other.
Bob loved his children and was so proud of them; he loved/adored his grandchildren and loved all family get-togethers. He enjoyed going to the family cabin and being with family and friends. Bob enjoyed the Grebmorts Horseshoe Tournament and being with extended family and friends. He enjoyed word puzzles and the Pioneer Press daily. He rooted for his Vikings football team always and all underdogs whether in sports or on TV game shows. On St. Patrick’s Day, he was Stromberg O’Reilly and celebrated the day like a true Irishman.
Bob is preceded in death by parents Hulgar Samuel and LaDoris (Magnuson) Stromberg; siblings Delores Ziemann, Roger Stromberg, and Richard Stromberg. He is survived by his wife, Sharla Stromberg, children: Helene (nickname Angel); Robert (Jana); Jake (Rachael); and Adam (Kristen); grandchildren: Braden, Sierra, Carter, Evan, Vincent, Savanna, Dylan, Blake, and Clay; siblings Ronald, Russell, Roy, Cynthia, and Colleen; and many other family & friends.
A Celebration of Robert's Life will be held on May 1st, 2021 from 1 pm to 4 pm at Sheet Metal Workers 10 Hall, 1681 Cope Ave., Maplewood, MN 55109
