Obituary of Elbert Silas Colvard
Of Mounds View, MN passed away on December 18, 2020 at New Brighton, A Villa Center from declining health conditions. He passed away peacefully in his sleep. Born in St. Paul (same hospital, same year as his wife, Eileen Colvard). Preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Bessie Colvard; brothers, Roy Jr., Jimmy and his sister, Deloris Dousi; grandson, Ryan Johnson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Eileen Colvard and his family, Susan Hanson (Rob), Deborah Johnson (Chuck), Gary Colvard and Kathleen Curtis (Greg); his four grandchildren, Kelley Gault (Rick), Nicholas Hanson, Dustin Johnson and Shonna Curtis; one great-grandson, Miles Gault; sisters-in-law, Dorathy Grauel (Al) and Carol Nowicki; many nieces, nephews and their families.
All that knew and loved him knows he loved music and played anything with strings…guitar, banjo, fiddle, mandolin and bass guitar. He also played harmonica and sang. He wrote a song in 2002 and another in 2004. He earned his black belt in Karate at age 39.
He was a devoted husband, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend. He will be missed by all!!! A special thank you to New Brighton, A Villa Center for the wonderful care he received there!
