Obituary of Joyce Van Slooten

Joyce died from Covid on Dec 3rd at the age of 91, the same day that she had married her husband 74 years ago. She was a loving and caring person who made a friend out of everyone she met and ended every conversation with “I love all heart.” Her family and faith were very important to her and she was excited to meet her new great-great grandson once travel was possible.She lived her life with joy and optimism. She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Van Slooten, son Steven Van Slooten, son-in-law Gary Faaborg, sister Dorothy Drake and brother Robert Newell. She is survived by daughters Cindy Faaborg, Peggy Garbe (Ralph), son Robert Van Slooten (Margaret), son-in-law Norman Sivesind and grandchildren Eric Faaborg, David Faaborg (Angela), Colleen Le Prell (Glenn) and Heather Hjermstad (partner Scott Klein). Joyce had 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. We are blessed to have had her in our lives.  Private service will be held.
